flexible weeks of delivery

Hithere!
We are interested in offering members variable numbers of weeks for delivery. For instance, our growing season would be 22 weeks and members would have the option of signing up for say 20 weeks, 16 weeks, or 12 weeks. They would be able to choose any weeks during the 22 week growing season to get deliveries. Ideally they would be able to set those weeks when signing up and could use vacation holds to adjust them as needed.
Is this possible as an option for members? Are any other farms offering this option and how is it configured? Any advice or places to look for more information would be appreciated. I wasn't able to find what I was looking for in the knowledge base.
Thanks!

There's no specific tools built into Member Assembler to do something like this. You would essentially have to manipulate vacation holds to block the users from your pickup lists on the appropriate weeks.

There are essentially two ways you could handle this:

    1) As part of the signup process, you could create a custom form question that is a list of checkboxes for all 22 weeks of the season and ask them to choose which weeks they want. Using this information, you would then after to add the appropriate vacation holds against their account. This would be a lot of manual work but you'd basically be able to audit each membership to make sure they have the right number of weeks. If the member choose too few/too many deliveries for their share type, you could correct that at that time.

    2) You could just have people signup and then before the season begins, instruct all members to go in and setup the appropriate number of weeks of vacation. So something like:

"Dear member, you signed up for a 16 week share. Please login and setup 6 weeks of vacation holds between dates X and Y. If you don't select these, we will select the weeks for you."

This would be less initial manual work but you'd still have to review these members to ensure that each has the right number of holds scheduled.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have further questions.
