Hello,

I have been working on this site: http://mnfvga.smallfarmcentraltrial.com/?sfcadministrator=true, and I am ready to have our old site: mfvga.org switched over to the new site through small farm central.

Can you assist with that? What information do I need to make this happen?

Thank you!

You'll need to access your domain settings which look to be setup through Network Solutions.

You'll have to update the nameserver settings to be:

    ns1.smallfarmcentral.com
    ns2.smallfarmcentral.com

Do you have any emails setup using the @mfvga.org domain? If so, we'll want to discuss how you have those setup first before making any changes to avoid any mail interruptions. If no email, then no worries about that.

Once you've made the change of the nameservers, let us know and we'll do the final switchover on our end.

    Thank you for this information.

I am having difficulties getting access to the Network Solutions account.
This organization has undergone a substantial amount of leadership change,
so some of the information has been lost. Is there another way we can do
this, or do you have any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Unfortunately accessing the domain registration is necessary to make the necessary changes.

You may need to contact Network Solutions customer support to figure out how to gain access to that account. You're certainly not the first organization to have this happen and they can walk you through that process.

I think we are ready to make the final switch. I updated the nameserver
settings. We do not have any emails associated with our old site.

Let me know if there is anything else I need to do to make the final
    switch.

    Thank you!

Ok, I made the change on our end and the new site is coming up for me. Sometimes there can be a lag along networks, so if you don't see the site coming up yet, don't worry, it should before long.

    Thank you.

It has only been a few hours, but I am still seeing the old site. How long
    do I give it?

    Hi Jenna:

Actually looking at the site again, I'm realizing this is your old site. I had taken a quick look at it and it looked like one of our simpler templates.

I just did a search on that domain and looked at what is showing for the nameservers and they are still listed as ns1.cyprusweb.com and ns2.cyprusweb.com, so it doesn't look like the nameserver change has gone through on that end.

Did your registrar tell you how long to expect before those changes were live?

It looks like it didnt save the first time I changed the settings. It says
24-48 hours, so I will check again tomorrow.

    Thank you!

Ok, well, everything is switched on our end, so whenever the nameservers are updated, the new site should come up.

    Hello again,

I think the nameservers have updated, but now I get this message when
trying to access the site: Do I need to wait longer, or is there something
else I need to do? Thanks!

    Ok, we got that working.

There was a glitch with our domain changing script and it wasn't properly setting everything on our end.

    Sorry for the delay.
