Customer email

My customer Brenda Stewart was a member in the past. I think I deleted her when she didn’t sign back up. Now she has rejoined and I set her up as a new customer made up an email so I could proceed with setting her up. When I enter her actual email I get an error message saying that email is already in use.
Please advise!

    Although you deleted the membership, that wouldn't have deleted the original user in your database.

    Go to - Administrate --> Users --> Manage Users and look up the real email. You should then be able to delete that user, freeing up the email address to be added to the new user account you created.
