Hi Simon --

Can we integrate any of the Dwolla payment plugins to accept payments

We're sick of paying Paypal and everyone else for access to our money!

    Hi Alex & Chloe,

I have looked at Dwolla before. The problem with that platform at this
point is that is certainly good for you as a business if you can convince
people to open an account because the access to cash is going to be very
much lower cost for you. But at this stage of adoption, almost no one has a
Dwolla account .. so to pay you, that means they would have to open an
account, transfer money from their bank, and then pay you. I imagine that
would take at least a few days even if they were willing to do that to pay
you which introduces friction to a process whereby someone is trying to pay

Certainly CSA customers are very committed customers, but introducing
friction into the payment process is certainly something to consider.

What I try to encourage farmers that use Member Assembler and such is that
payment processing has to be part of the way you calculate the cost of your
shares and the cost of producing food. It can't come out of your margins.
On almost every transaction we make in the world, the cost of the credit
card is on that whether we pay with cash or whatever because so many
    consumers pay with credit cards.

So until something like Dwolla gains enough traction, we won't be
integrating it into our system because it is a lot of work to create a new
payment method. However, you could likely use Dwolla as an optional system
and then enter payments manually just as you would a check.. and just give
that to people that want to use it. That would give a sense of how many
people would actually use a system like that and give it a dry test run and
    you could report back.

Long answer to a seemingly simple question! Hope this helps.

    Hi Alex,

I just wanted to let you that a person from Dwolla found this record and contacted us. We are in conversations with them and I think this might be a nice option for us. So I'll get back with you on that as it progresses.

    Hi Alex,
Just wanted to let you know we got Dwolla fully integrated into Member Assembler and are out of the test phase. If you'd like to pursue configuring it, all the instructions are here:
    Take care,
