Just by accident I was able to add copied text. Would be nice to have the correct spelling available as with gmail.

Art - spell checker is built into the new text editor. No need to turn it on/off.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Just by accident I was able to add copied text." There is an "Undo" button in the new text editor, so if you ever make a mistake, just click that to remove your last edit. It's the 2nd to last button on the 2nd row.

I used to copy text and insert it. I would right click and then after it
said it wasn't supported I would control "v" to insert. Way back I would
    right click and paste.

Most browsers don't support the copy/cut/paste buttons, so we left them out.

You'll need to use the keyboard shortcuts of:
    Ctrl-C (Copy)
    Ctrl-X (Cut)
    Ctrl-V (Paste)
