Changing member to another user account

I want to transfer a user already in the system to another account. This past member this year is splitting a share with another user. How can you transfer user information already in the system without deleting their old record?

Assuming they are on the old membership by themselves, here's what you would need to do. An email can only be associated with one membership at a time, so you'll need to change the email address on the old membership. So let's say the email is [email blocked]; you might change it to be something like [email blocked]. This puts a placeholder on that old membership and frees up the real email address for creating a new user in the new membership.

If they were sharing the old membership, you should be able to go into that membership and remove them as a user. If they are the primary user, you will need to make one of the other users on that membership primary first, then you can remove the user. Then when you try to add that user to the new membership, you'll search existing users instead of adding a new user.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
