Display member types from different seasons

Hi there,

I would like to have three seasons in our CSA, and so I've created different member types within each season.

However on the sign-up page, I'd like to give the option for members to be able to sign up for all three seasons at once.

Is there a way to do that?

Many thanks,
Amanda

    Hi there,

Just a side note, I've turned up on sign-up for all seasons, and I see now that I get a banner message across the top asking the member if they want to change seasons for signup. Is there a way to have three boxes appear side by side from each season so they can sign up simultaneously? I'm thinking the answer is no!

    Hi Amanda:

Instead of making three separate seasons for each share type, you could just make one singular season "CSA 2017" and then you would just have three share types within that one season - one share type for each seasonal share. If you do, then people can sign up for them all at one time. If you make them separate seasons, then members will need to go through the signup process separately for each season.

One thing to be aware of if you do this is that there will just be one overall downpayment for all seasons, regardless of whether they sign up for just one season or all three, so you may want to consider a percentage deposit instead of a flat amount.

Let us know if you have any further questions as you set this up.

Thank you. What advantage, if any, are we losing to not having three
separate seasons then? Just wondering which why would be best to go...

    Hi Amanda:

For a pretty simple CSA such as yourself, I don't think you loose much. For some CSA's that offer a lot more add-on options, sometimes it makes sense to split the seasons up, otherwise the signup page can get a bit long and cluttered.

Separating them into individual seasons would also allow you to more easily get a specific downpayment for each season and more easily request specific payments for particular season.

If you were using the Authorize.net credit card gateway, you could set up different deposit amounts and different automated payment schedules for different seasons, but since you are using Paypal, you'd have the same downpayment structure for all seasons, so that doesn't matter for you.

Overall, based on what I see of your setup, I think doing one season should work fine for you.

    Hi there,

I signed up as a test to make sure our process is working, and one issue
came up. The field %%member-assembler-checkout-details%% didn't appear to
be filled out. Do you know why that may be the case?

    Thanks,
    Amanda

    Hi Amanda:

When you go to the checkout configuration (Member Assembler --> Configure --> Checkout), you'll see there are the 2 sections of the confirmation email. There is the "Email Text" and the "Invoice Only Instructions". You have that variable listed in both sections; it should only be listed in the top section.

Everybody receives the text in the main "email text" but the "invoice only instructions" get inserted into the other text (right below the %%member-assembler-checkout-details%% variable) for those members who check out with the invoice.

So if you look at your example, you'll see it basically adds the one box of text into the other and then at the end of the email you have "Thank you for your support" twice.

The "invoice only instructions" box should really just have information in it that says something like "If you are paying by check, please make check payable to X and send to X. Payments are expect by XX/XX/XX."

    Make sense?
