I would like to offer a discount to those who choose to pay by check, as opposed to tacking on fees to the credit card processes.
How can I offer this discount ? I don't see a way to offer a discount just the invoice customers.

Thanks!

    Hi Asha,

Is this for your CSA shares or for online store orders?

I would offer it to CSA and ecommerce purchases

    Hi Asha,

You cannot create a discount for folks paying by invoice specifically. We sometimes recommend that farmers put text in their invoice only email telling their invoice customers to subtract a certain amount if they're paying by invoice (Member Assembler-->Configure-->Checkout. Scroll down to the text field that is called "Invoice-Only Instructions").

The only other way to accomplish this is through a coupon. Neither option is perfect so the best practice is probably just to add the online transaction fee. Just curious, what is it about doing it that way that doesn't appeal?

    Hope that helps.

    HI Daniel,

Asha here, finally replying to this. I prefer that the extra charges are
built into the cost for the credit card customers, and that an automatic
discount rewards those paying by check because I think people will be
turned off by seeing the extra charges tacked on at the end of the checkout
    process.

I dont see anything like these fees when I purchase things online (even
though I know the prices must reflect the added costs of credit card
transactions) its just a different feeling.

    Hi there Asha,

Yup, I totally hear what you're saying. I would recommend the first option I suggested--adding text to the invoice only email asking your customer to deduct the fee from their payment.
