when i upload photos i want them to have titles. OR i want to be able to retitle them so i can manage them in gallery. the rename function doesn't work for me. it is VERY diffiult to manage photos at SFC: they're tiny AND they're untitled.

    Hi Linda:

I'll pass your comments along to the development team. Perhaps it is something we can address in the future.

but why do you have the "rename" function available? I rename the photo
but the name i give doesn't doesn't show up. the name i give the photos
apparently is added to the *end* of your set of numbers. That's ridiculous.

if you look at my photos, you will see that they are the size of a postage
stamp, and they have no legible identification. how do you expect me to
even be able to see which cow is which. This is really stupid. quite
frankly, i think there must be better software for me.

Where are you finding a "rename" function?

Oh, you are probably right-clicking on your mouse and finding the "rename" function there. That is something that is built into your browser but the browser doesn't have permission to update the file names, so that's why they don't take.

I can see if it is possible to increase the size of the thumbnails.

    1. Manage your photo gallery has a "caption" option. So where does that
caption go once I give a caption to the photo?
    2. My uploaded photos have a name associated with the file. Where does
    that name go?
    3. When I go to insert a picture into a FDP, and right click on a potential
photo, I get a rename option.

What you offer in the gallery is a bunch of totally ridiculous numerals
attached to each photo. That is not a management tool.

Absolutely none of these tools or photo properties make any difference in
the photo gallery when I view it for photo selection.
I work with mail chimp on a regular basis. It's a breeze compared to this
    software.
Maybe you are too focused on CSAs and I need more logical farm software.
I will *always* have photos and text. You can see on our dropdown "Devon
for Sale" and the entry "Bred Heifers" that we give pedigrees as well as
pictures as well as text. That's life here on the farm.

Sorry I'm bent out of shape, but I have wasted a LOT of time today with
    this software.

    1) Captions show up in the photo gallery or in slideshows.

    2) Photos for all of our sites are kept on a centralized server. To avoid file naming conflicts where multiple farms could have a photo called "heifer1.jpg", all files get renamed with the series of numbers that you see.

    3) As I stated in my previous response, that "rename" option is something built into the browser. It is not a feature of our software.

Sorry that you feel this has caused you wasted time. Our developer Mike is out of the office this afternoon but i've sent him a message to see if there is anything we can do about getting larger thumbnails of the photos. I think that is our most likely short-term solution here.

can you tell me how to get rid of the white background behind text on our
"bred heifer" dropdown? Originally I had highlighted hyperlinks yellow.
tried to undo by choosing no color for background. apparently there is
either no "remove highlight" , only the white box that looks like no
highlight but is actually white background?

I removed that highlight for you.

You should just be able to select the area that is already highlighted and then just click on the color that it is currently highlighted and it should undo that highlight.
