Hi! I allow members to make payments on their CSA share at there leisure. I have a member that wants to pay her payment through paypal but cannot through her account. I only allows invoice. I know that I can send her a payment request but is there a way for folks to use paypal on their own through their account? Clear as mud?

Hi, Rebecca. According to the Advanced Options in your Checkout Settings (MA> Configure> Checkout), the "Pay" link is suppressed, meaning that the only way to get online payments from members after the down payment is to send a payment request.

The link suppression is a setting that farmers requested to make it harder for people to avoid paying the credit card fee. (Without the link suppression, hypothetically, someone could check out as invoice to avoid the fee, then make a PayPal payment from their login, when it is too late to apply the fee.) If you wanted to let members make online payments without your prompting them to do so, I would recommend reversing the link suppression.

I hope this is helpful. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Hi, Rebecca. Unfortunately, the control panel can only apply the fee before the invoice is created. If someone elects to make a down payment with PayPal, the charge of roughly 3% will be applied to their entire invoice, which covers any subsequent payments they might make. However, the charge cannot be applied after the invoice has been created.

We have a setting that will show the pay link if someone has received the online transaction charge. This would be something we have to turn on, but it would allow people who have already paid the fee to make payments just by logging in.

Let me know if you'd like us to turn on this setting for you.

Hi, Rebecca. I have made that change. I also reversed the "pay" link suppression on your Checkout Settings, since the setting won't work if the link is suppressed.

Let me know if your member continues to have issues with this.
