Member Assembler payments are what we call the automated scheduled payments that you can set up if you use Authorize.net for your credit card gateway instead of Paypal.

Here's a help file that shows you the difference between the Paypal and Authorize.net's fee structure: http://support.smallfarmcentral.com/kb/ecommerce/credit-card-proces...

With Paypal you cannot set up automated payments, but you can with Authorize.net. Here's some more information on how you would set up automated payments (aka Member Assembler payments): http://support.smallfarmcentral.com/kb/member-assembler/setting-up-...

    Hope this information is helpful.

Thanks for your prompt response. Can I still use payment plans with PayPal payments?

You can still do payments plans with Paypal, they just won't be automated. So your members will make a downpayment when they initially check out but future payments you'll need to prompt them to make. We have a tool that makes it easy to follow up with members when their next payment is due. It is the Payment Request tool. For more information on how to use that tool, see this help file: http://support.smallfarmcentral.com/kb/member-assembler/requesting-...
