What report shows me the number of new members in the Fall CSA?

    Hi

Please clarify, do you mean: 1) you just want to see how many members have signed up for the Fall CSA season , or 2) you are looking to see how many of your Fall CSA members are new to the CSA/haven't been members before?

If the first one, the easiest thing to do is go to - Member Assembler --> Statistics --> Dashboard and you can view your statistics in a couple different ways (types, pickups, etc).

If you are looking for just BRAND NEW members as of this season, that statistic is not maintained directly. One thing you can do is do an export of invoice since you opened the season and look at the column that shows when the membership was created. If you sort by that column, any memberships created since you started signups for the fall would be new members. Alternately since I see you creating a returning member discount, is you can look at the column for the charges/discounts on the invoice to see if someone received that discount or not.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Q--
As you correctly extrapolated, I am indeed looking for a reasonable way to
count the members of the CSA who are new to us. After poking around more I
think I've found what I need: The retention report shows 99 retained
members, so I can back into it from there.

I understand SFC's desire to focus on renewals, but we are also at least as
interested in observing how effective we are at bringing in new members
each season. I'd very much like to see a graph added on the dashboard
indicating the number and percent of new and renewing members for each
season, and perhaps even season to season comparisons.

Now, how can I create a report listing those new members, so I can reach
out to them personally and welcome them to the season? We will want to do
this each season as well, so any ability to automate this will be most
    appreciated.

    Please advise.

    Hi Marjorie:

You make a good point. Currently there isn't an easy way to automatically create such a group, but let me talk with the development team to see what we can do.

In the meantime, I ran an export and pulled out those members for you and imported them back into your account as a group called "Returning members as of Oct 7".

When you go to the "Send Email" tool, if you click over to the "Regular Mailing List" mailing option at the top of the page, you will be shown your user groups to email to and you should see this new group listed there at the bottom of the list.
